Sundrips — Cloud Boundary
Well, it’s that time again. Bridgetown Records, a label which rarely (read: never) disappoints, has just unloaded its gargantuan Summer Batch, which rounds up 15 new tapes, CDs, and DVDs from a stellar lineup of talents. Head honcho Kevin Greenspon has christened the occasion with a free 21-track mixtape, which I recommend anyone with a working internet connection grab immediately.
Among the mix’s numerous standouts is a glittering, skyward meditation from Montreal duo Sundrips, who, since 2010 alone, have already put out 10+ releases on the likes of Hooker Vision, Digitalis, and Fadeaway Tapes. “Cloud Boundary” will immediately vibe with fans of Emeralds, as it rolls out the same sort of spiraling synth lines and space-age textures that McGuire and the gang are known for.
