Vehicle Blues - Oscar Bought a Boat 

Check out Vehicle Blues’ latest track featured on Birdgetown Records Summer Mixtape. Last month I had Chicago’s Vehicle Blues (also known as Gabe Holcombe) up on the blog for his split tape with California’s Trudgers. Holcombe released his “Koz Park” c5 on Bridgetown just this month.

“Oscar Bought a Boat” is the b-side of “Koz Park,” and like everything from Vehicle Blues, is top notch. Loving Gabe’s vocals on this one; not a peppy track, but relatively upbeat from Vehicle Blues’ usual borderline ambient jams. I’m not sure if I like this better, or just as much, as the tracks on Vehicle Blues’ split with Trudgers. “Oscar Bought a Boat” is just as infectious as “Mountain Girls,” but in completely different ways. Nevertheless, I do know that Vehicle Blues’ latest is good.. really good.
